Where is the HIT Academy?

St. Mary’s College of Maryland in Historic St.Mary’s City is located on the picturesque St Mary’s River. Our campus is easily accessible from BWI, Reagan, and Dulles airports which are all an hour and a half drive or less. Annapolis and DC are just over an hour away, with downtown Baltimore less than 2 hours from campus. All players and coaches will be housed on campus in air-conditioned dorms and suites.

Are meals included?

All meals will be provided by Bon Appetite and served in the Great Room, centrally located in the Campus Center.

What can the parents do?

Ample hotel accommodations are all within 15 – 25 minutes away with excellent waterfront dining as well as more casual options. Solomons Island, Point Lookout, and Harrington Harbor offer easy morning, afternoon or evening opportunities to sample local fare, history, and customs.

What can I expect on the field?

All practice sessions, scrimmages, and games will be played on four Bermuda grass fields. Each field will be staffed with two college coaches as well as current college players. The college coaches and players will work directly with the club players and teams to instill individual and team concepts designed to maximize performance and skill.

What can I expect off the field?

Each team will be filmed and have the opportunity to break down field situations with a college coach. Three certified trainers will be available before, during, and after all sessions. All players will have access to our state-of-the-art training room facilities. Players will also have use of the Olympic pool located in the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics and Recreation Center.

What else can I expect?

We will offer a coaches clinic/white board session with Q & A on the first night as well as a coaches social. This will allow the club coaches to mingle in a more intimate setting with the college coaches and players. Rich Edgar, Director of Admissions at St. Mary’s College, will lead a symposium on the college recruiting process and NCAA guidelines as part of the clinic. The recruiting symposium will be open to all club players, coaches and parents. On the final day of training, we will bring in some of the top club teams in Maryland to face-off against the club teams to offer top quality outside competition in full 10 v 10 scrimmage situations.
